Helping a friend...

One of the KCRF vendors, Moon Marble, is up for an award as "One of the 8 wonders of Kansas".

Now, Bruce of Moon Marble is a nifty guy and if you haven't stopped by his booth near the front gate (just past Spangler Art), you've really missed out. He has an amazing marble store and plant in erm, Bonner Springs, I think, which is really very cool.

Go here, http://www.kansassampler.org/8wonders/vote.php, and vote for him, please...and 7 others as well. You're really spozed to be a KS citizen but I just entered where I USED to live in KS and voted anyway.

He deserves it!

While I'm at it, the Kansas Sampler is a pretty nifty store as well.

Thanks!

Done. Each email address can vote up to 3 times.

And a second one that *I* will endorse (since you are supposed to vote for 8) is Big Brutus, a ginormous mining shovel in West Mineral (about 20 miles from here). It's definitely a Wonder of SE Kansas!

Yes, I voted for that too, I remember seeing that and it IS very nifty.

I also voted for the Mill and the Bakery and a couple other things but not the oil fields...

Wonderful! Yeah, Bruce is just a hoot!

If you haven't been to the actual Moon Marble shop and showroom--GO! Run, don't walk! It is one of the neatest places. I go as often as I think of it and it never gets old. It's a mile from my house so let me know you're going and we can meet up for a drink or bite to eat or just a visit.

If you haven't made Bonner Springs an afternoon destination you should. Mood Marble, Pink Zebra, Magnum Opus, Provence (sp?) on the Praire, Miller's Too...you can spend hours shopping the neat boutiques popping up everywhere.

I have but it's been YEARS, a bunch of them. I could've spend hours in there. I haven't been to downtown Bonner Springs in a long time. Personally, I think sometime when I'm up there and maybe the rest of the band too and whoever else wants to, we should just do a day in Bonner Springs and have you show us around!

Sounds like a blast!

I'd be up for that! Sounds like a good summer trip to me...

That's what I was thinking exactly!

Done. Now if he'd just stop selling those annoying as hell magnetic things that kids throw in the air to create The Most Annoying Noise Known to Man. I actually lie to children when they ask me where people get them.

Oh, I hate those things too. Unfortunately, I understand that he has to sell a popular, low dollar item like that in order to survive. But ye GODS, I hate those things. I have been known, as the Statue of Liberty, to get down off my pedestal and take those and laser pointers away from kids.

Yay, I'm glad you posted this. I saw it in the paper yesterday, and planned to post!
