Aaarrrrrggghhh!!!!!
Nov. 25th, 2003 10:13 am*sigh* I HATE giving up! But after having spent all day yesterday reading and prepping the fabric for this kilt and two hours just this morning trying to figure out whatinhell they mean for you do with the first pleat and the apron....
Pulling my head out and realizing that this is just not the thing to do right now. It gripes my ass to not be able to figure this out but Bruce is right, profit-making work is what I must concentrate on right now. This is a wonderful book but you would not believe how complex they make it - this is something to focus upon when I have the time to devote to it. Jaysus, they've got this so traditionally done that they figure out the pleat width by a technique that doesn't use mathematics! Aarrgh, indeed!
It further gripes my ass to not have Bruce in a decent kilt by the time of our gigs, from several points. OK, 1)he desperately needs a new kilt, the one is waay too short and neither of them are made properly (*not* gonna go into that one); 2)he's my darling, handsome Scottish rogue and I want him to look his best; 3)there's costumers pride at stake here too and the fact that I promised myself and him I'd have one for him by the December gigs; 4)then there's the bit where he's been so wonderfully generous with me and this is something lovely I can do for him that he really needs. But.......
*sigh* I must be sensible and go do the sewing I must do to produce income.
...grumble, grumble, grumble...
