Nothing like fresh biscuits in the morning! I wanna make a long rambling post about things I've been considering, but...
I must get to work sewing. The sun is shining, there are brave little yellow crocus's blooming in the front yard, I have a purring Nell-cat trying to keep my hands from my keyboard and I'm in a very mellow mood. We were out quite late and I was feeling slightly ticklish/flemish/dry in the back of my throat when I got up to get Bruce's coffee at 5:30. So I went back to bed after I got Bruce off to work with his Egg McSusi's (tm) as he calls them. *chuckle* So cute! But I feel great now; fresh biscuits with honey and ham and juice and vitamins and coffee later.
But quickly so I can record this; the recording, actually mixing, session last night was hard work but went wonderfully! It was highly educational for me; I now grok why using a studio is such a wonderful thing; why having a really good sound engineer who works *with* you, who listens and makes suggestions and has a marvelous ear for how things should blend.
We got "Fields of Athenry" and "Johnny Jump Up" and "Grania" mixed. "Grania" kicks some butt; it has balls which is what is called for in that song; I am not displeased with the result. Gods, listening to it, it's no wonder we do that song last or that I have any voice when it's done; Scott asked me, "Have you ever done any acting?" at which we all chortled; yeah, just a bit! I know I'm leaving out one more song that we got mixed but I can't remember which one. This CD is gonna cost a lot, but I think it will be well worth it; I had no real idea how much difference good engineering can make on a CD, that he can take a dull sounding bodhron sound and make it sound like it does on stage. How cool!
Anyway, I'm off to work like the wind! (no, that does *not* mean I'll be farting in the sewing room!)
