Spreading the word....
Aug. 5th, 2010 12:32 pmKCPL is one of the worst examples of "customer service" that I've ever seen.
They deserve to be the target of a huge public outcry and investigation.
Because they're "the only game in town" they can treat 'customers' as if they're indentured servants.
My power was cut off because of a former tenant who was evicted; he owed them over $1200 and when they pounded (yes POUNDED) on my door (while I was in the tub) and left within one minute that it took me to get a robe on and get to the door. They left a "immediate payment" shut off notice.
When I (after getting dressed) ran out to the truck and tried to reason with them, they wouldn't help. They wouldn't turn the power back on EVEN WHEN THE APARTMENT MANAGER asked them to turn it back on in THEIR account's name. She yelled at them, I yelled at them. She's FURIOUS over this and other problems she's had with them. There is absolutely no reason for them to obstruct business like this.
The apartment complex requires that electric service be set up before I could sign a lease. She faxed the needed information in to them, herself, on June 22 and received a confirmation back that it was received but when she called, they gave 2 stories on it. First, they said it wasn't received at all and then they said "it was too dark"...well, which was it? Either you received it or not. I have no account with them even though I have an account number. But yet it's MY responsibility to call them when I didn't get a bill? I haven't even been in here a full 20 days yet; I just now paid my first month's rent. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHAT THEIR BILLING CYCLE IS if I've never seen a bill?
The information has been RE-faxed to them, I've received a confirmation but that means nothing; they won't confirm if they've received it or not.
Fuckers...they deserve to fail. Horrid, horrid example of "customer service" in this city and an absolute disgrace to businesses everywhere.
I've never been so irate in my life.
