Here's an idea...

Along the lines of promoting positive energy and banishing negativity...

If you hear a compliment about somebody or think of something nice, not only tell that person but also kick it upstairs. Pass it along to the Powers That Be 'cause you never know how much good that'll do but I'm betting that there'll be a ripple effect.

1) the boss could probably use some good news, trust me, he's tired of the drama, too.
2) it makes him feel good because he that he has at least two happy people working for him; the one who's been complimented and the one passing along the compliment
3) it makes the first guy feel great 'cause you know this boss is gonna give him an atta-boy
4) it makes you feel good that you've made other people happy
5) it makes the others who said the compliments feel good at saying the compliment in the first place

It's a win-win-win situation and most definitely increases positive energy all around.

Hint: phone call made and I'm pretty sure I know somebody who's gonna get a well-deserved Castletonian pin this weekend.

*chuckles* We were handed those forms to fill out asking if we had any complaints pretty much. My dad asked. "Did you want us to make one up? We have no complaints."

In fact I don't think we have stopped laughing for 3 weeks. ^_^

It's great when there's a good fit between vendor and faire!

Poor guy, I think this year has been so full of drama that he probably trembles whenever he's told he has a call! The smile in his voice as we ended the conversation was really, really heart-warming.

*smirks* Can't say as my folks havent been doing a lil chain yanking. But after our help setting up for the feast, I dont think we can do much wrong.

Our artistic director actually has a competiton every week for the actor who has received an 'attaboy' ...She asks us to bring someone (anyone, even the trash collectors and vendors) to her attention when they go above and beyond, or when someone's 'bit' works really well. The best one each week gets a crazy little tchotchke and recognition at cast call.... things like a pack of cards with the British rulers on it, or a wooden ruler with them listed, a plastic Shakespeare or a pirate treasure chest from a party favor pack for kids.

That's a very cool way to promote positive behavior!

The way this is done at OKRF is recognition at morning meeting by the presentation of an "outstanding Castletonian" pin by the owner himself who is a very hand-on guy even down to dressing in costume on a daily basis and getting out and dancing and stuff. The faire is his dream child and he is addressed as "The Steward" of the Castle.

Lovely thing to do and I wish more people would get in on finding deserving folk; this fella happens to be a street vendor and wonderful street interactor. I think he'd win a popular vote as 'best new guy on the streets' even including cast members.

I know exactly who you are talking about, and boy, does he deserve it! He rocks my socks, truly, and gets the Bob gold star of approval.(Hey, he's a Browncoat and a rennie...can't go wrong!)

I hope he receives the award...wish I could be a fly on the wall, so you will have to let me live vicariously through you and let me know how it goes.

O.k, I know I'm tired.. but when I first read this post, I was interpreting it in my head as this whole big picture cosmic thing.. Then I realized...OH.. not THOSE powers that be.. but the Ren Faire powers that be.. can we say *doh*.. time to go to sleep now. I think I need to regeuvenate some brain cells. *snort*
