Tomorrow is my first statue gig in over two, no, make that three years.

Tomorrow is also the first time I'll be seeing my ex in about that same amount of time but that's another post that might or might not be made. Suffice it to say that I'm determinedly prepared for a happy, peaceful and fun gig; may that expectation prove to be the reality.

This gig will be at the Berkely RiverFront Park in Kansas City, MO. Now, I have a general idea where that has to be but have yet to determine directions, parking and if I have the needed dressing room/storage/clean-up facilities for doing a green Statue of Liberty and then driving four hours to get to my faire gig for the weekend. Yes, I have a call in to the producer but he apparently isn't in yet.

Whatever the event may be, it runs from 3:00 to 8:00pm and I believe it is a patriotic even, this close to Fourth of July but that is speculation on my part since my contract does not specify that. I do know that Richard will be there performing, too, I assume as Uncle Sam.

When I know more, for those of you who wish to see me perform as Lady Liberty, I will post more info. I just love going into a gig not knowing anything...

Berkeley Park is on the south bank of the Missouri River between the ASB and Paseo bridges. Easiest way to get there (though perhaps noe least convoluted): Take I-35 North from as close you can jump onto it until you get to the Front Street exit, just before you cross the Paseo Bridge. I believe at that point you'll turn left, swing under the bridge, and then your first right takes you directly into the park.

Though I doubt you'd come the other way, but if you're in downtown KC, head north on Grand. As Grand crosses 3rd Street, it goes up a bridge that curves to the right. This road leads directly into the other end of the park.

I know that part of town like the back of my hand. It is holy ground to me.

I don't know if that'll be possible as I have nobody coming with me for this gig but if someone takes pictures, I'll certainly ask them to send me copies.

hehe. You'd be surprised how many people will give you their card or something, if they take photos. Usually, on my little sign, I post 'email photos to ___, thank you!'
