Poo...

Well, my sewing machine is on strike. After fiddling with is most of the day, the tension is just completely fubar'd.

Any chance if I bring it up there, somebody could take it by the Bernina shop in OP, for me? See, it's still on warranty there and so the repairs are free. If I do it at the Bernina Shop here in Tulsa, it's $100 bucks. Yeah, plus I trust the guy who's worked on it all its life more than somebody I don't know.

Yes, I'll call and have them be expecting it.

Anybody....please?

i can, where is the shop?

[identity profile] rowangolightly.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
It's in the Windmill Shopping Center, off Metcalf and about 98th Street. It's in the same shopping center as the Taco Bell and across the street from the Sears Automotive in the Mall at 95th and Metcalf.

i know about where that is. shouldn't be a problem! do you know what their hours are?

[identity profile] rowangolightly.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
No, the google map doesn't say but I know they have pretty wide hours. Give them a call if you like and ask them; they're great folk.

Its across from the Metcalf South Shopping Center...that's what I couldn't remember. I've called them and they're cool with it, you just need to give them my name. I explained it and she said, "Yeah, there's nobody like Louis" and she's right!

Here's the address:

7251 W 97th St
Overland Park, KS 66212
(913) 341-6400

Thanks, hon...

Ugh, that just reminded me to take my Janome serger and Elna sewing machine in for repair. Tension problems, and right when I wanted to do more costuming.

Is it sad that I have two portable sewing machines and a Singer serger for backup?

*g* No, that seems entirely wise to me.

There's nobody better I've found anywhere at repairing machines that Louis at the Bernina in OP. But then, I'm biased....

This is no offense to my lovely sister but seeing as I'm unemployed and don't have a little boy to schlep around, this might be easier for me to accomplish. She and I can fight it out, but my money's on me. ;)

*lol* Either way....doesn't matter to me so long as it gets there.

Ya know, you might also see if they're hiring; it's a wonderful company for which to work and the perks have gotta be good. I know the owner of the shop, Myron, and would be happy to give you a stellar recommendation.

Just a thought...

Just butting in to say how much I smiled from the warmth and love that came through this "thread" -- and *its* tension is not fubar'd at all!

Aw thanks, hun....
