YES we are!

Hiya, everybody!

Yes, we are still driving to Kansas City tonight.

Yes, we are still having the Kansas City CD Release Party at Crescent Springs in old Overland Park tomorrow from 2 - 4:30pm.

Yes, we are driving back to Tulsa in the morning and ARE having our Tulsa CD Release Party at Borders Books on 21st street from 2 - 4:30pm.

A little snow can't stop us, and we hope it won't stop you either.

A spice-almond-rum cake is in the oven now as well as ham/boursin cheese/pepperjelly roll-ups (like sausage cookies but different; recipe later, right now I don't have time) and spinach-artichoke dip and hummus (if I can find it in the store when I get up there...the dried Fantasticks brand IS!)

Nikki's bringing oatmeal/butterscotch cookies and a fruit torte so yum! These are for the KC party since at Borders, we're in the Coffee shop and I think they'd object if we brought our own food!

For further clarity: YES, everybody is invited and welcome! And here's the addresses:

Sat. March 28th 2 - 4:30 p.m.
Crescent Springs
7317 W. 80th St.
Overland Park, KS

Sun. March 29th 2-4 p.m.
Borders Bookstore
2740 E. 21st St.
Tulsa, OK
Please come and join us in the fun at either location, or both, if you're crazy enough! Lots of fun and music and friends.

And yes, we'll drive carefully!

Bye....

Safe travels and see you tomorrow!

You betcha!

Yes YES please be careful! Granted they're wrong half the time but if the weather services are right we're looking at 8 inches of snow, ice and potential for power outages which would be bad!

Bruce is used to driving big rigs in German winters; we're taking the car and picking Becky up on the way.

We will be careful but I'm not worried in the least.

Oh, please don't tell me that...I don't wanna drive in that Sunday morning going to Tulsa...

Susi, if you want, you can add oatmeal/butterscotch cookies and fruit torte to the list of food that will be at the party Saturday. =0)

Becky'll drive if it's bad, sweetie, and with it being 36-41 degrees, it won't stay on the ground for long!

And will do...

I've got one traveller going into a blizzard in Texas Panhandle..Hubby is up at Caney Valley..you guys heading north...sigh..my nerves will be happier when everyone is settled for the night.{{HUGS}}

As of 9a, there is no snow at all in KC or environs. Apparently the storm spent the night in Topeka. Look forward to seeing you this afternoon.

[identity profile] rowangolightly.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I think it hit Wichita pretty hard too.

It'll be wonderful to see you!

Oh crap, honey, I forgot to text you; I just dropped right into bed.

It rained most of the way up but didn't freeze at all. This morning it's drizzled just a bit on the car windows but the streets aren't slippery at all.

Looks like most of it went to Topeka and Wichita.

That's o.k. Becky posted and X for you so I knew my peeps were safe. I wasn't as worried once I saw the weather stayed wet and the snow and ice waited a bit longer to hit. The other traveler that headed into the blizzard area itself kept me on pins and needles until he landed though..

We are getting quite a bit of the white stuff now here. Not as much as Tulsa, but Broken Arrow has about 3 inches so far. Big heavy wet snow. So far doesn't seem to be sticking to the streets much. Be safe and I'll see you tomorrow! Good luck this afternoon!

Yeah, it started sleeting just before we headed over to the gig then it really started to snow. Now there's about 4 inches of really moist, hard-packing snow on the ground and it's still falling steadily.

We'll see about tomorrow...still heading back in the morning, one way or the other.
