Jan. 1st, 2005 07:05 pmFirst of all let me say how fortunate, blessed, lucky, dorky-goofy-blissfully happy I am.
2004 was the year of the greatest contrast I've ever experienced. "It was the best of times; it was the worst of times." Oh yeah, except reverse that. I have survived this year; no, not survived, for there was never really a question of that. I have surmounted incredible pain, depression, hurt, anger, betrayal, weakness, self-doubt this year to start a new life which brings me greater joy than I have ever known. I have such abundant blessings in my life now; a beloved partner, cherished work, shared goals towards which we can joyously work, music in our lives which causes joy for us and for others, friends both old and new to cherish, health, dreams both achieved and yet-to-be envisioned and so very much more than mere survival.
I wish for all of you some measure of the bliss I feel right now. Yes, there are sad things going on and folk who need help in many different places. But you've gotta take time to appreciate the blessings you do have and enjoy the good things as they come your way. We deserve the joy we have now after all the dues we've paid in the recent past. Believe me, we won't take that for granted!
( And now about the party )
So a beef/port stew is simmering on the back of the stove, I'm finishing this post and then my love and I are heading for bed early!
Good night and gods bless!~
