As much as I love my job at the Zoo (mostly) having a day to work at home is heavenly. Should be two days, but I have to work at Cy's tomorrow to retain my employee discount (leaving this subject so I won't start another rant!)
I'm working like mad on my new fencing jacket - blue and green - which are the colors of Five Rings Fencing. You should see the club's new embroidered patch; gorgeous! But I've gotta get this costume done this week before Mark and I leave for Colorado via his motorcycle 'cause there's no way a court costume fits in the luggage on a bike. Hehe - several friends have already said, "are you f**kin' nuts?" but this is my summer of adventure and if you can't trust your fencing master, who in hell can you trust? (remember people I referred to yesterday who deserve a blue garter - bingo!) I'm going to try to get the bodice, 2 skirts done as well, but I MUST get the jacket done so that I'll have a riding jacket for chilly Colorado mountain riding. I'm SO looking forward to this - haven't had any sort of a vacation in over three years!
I kinda putzed around this morning rather than getting busy as I shoulda - but whatheheck! too few days off as it is! so I got caught up with friends online and finally had bacon and fresh blueberry pancakes 11ish - how very decadent! Then started drafting this pattern and had to run out to get the blue and green suede (yes, I know I have some downstairs but where!!!!) so it was just easier to run out to LeatherSmith and get more. And still must get boots - tomorrow!
Ok - enough for now - gotta get back to sewing. The goal is to have this jacket drafted, fitted and cut out tonight so I can assemble tomorrow. Setting goals good! Oh damn, gotta run over and pick up one more load of shit, no - stuff (since it's mine - George Carlin cleared that up; "it's my stuff, it's your shit!" long ago.) from the ex's house. And nearly my last chance to see the puppy girl before he moves away with her. Damn I'm gonna miss that dog!
