I can't get away from it!

They're playing an arrangement of "What do you do with a Drunken Sailor?" on the Classical radio station!

HELP!

(Performed by Cantus and OH are they fabulous; if you like a capella male singers, check them out. They perform without a conductor, nifty group!)

Outstanding!

"What do you do with a Drunken Sailor?"

*LOL*

But if Cantus comes ANYWHERE nearby, I'm going, no matter what!

I saw Cantus at the SWACDA convention in Little Rock in high school. They were awesome.

Very fine work by Cantus... made any thoughts of drunken sailors fly silently away.

Yep, may be the only version of that song that I can stand!

I always found it amusing that they play an orchestral version of it over some of the NFL highlight reels.

No, really? Ye gods...another reason not to watch football. As if I needed another one!

I wouldn't worry - unless you watch the pre-game show or the NFL Network™.

Erm, I don't hardly watch any TV at all, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Oh, yes. There's some guy who does orchestral arrangements for (I am not making this up) NFL Films. For some reason utterly unknown to me, the arrangement of "Drunken Sailor" goes by the name "A Golden Boy Again" in this context, and some advertising doofus put it in the background of an ad for a big Toyota sale a few years back, leading to some controversy (why would one associate a tune about drunkenness with driving?).

*snicker*

Somebody on Wall Street obviously doesn't listen to folk music nor go to Renfaires...more's the pity!
