So this'll be quick.

First, cheeptrims.com is CRACK! *sigh*

Second, I hereby announce that I am coming back down to Scarborough Faire the weekend of April 29 & 30 to play in noble garb and will be playing Lady Suffolk. Yep, Bill offered me that as an incentive and he was correct, it was irresistable. And yes, Mary Tudor is the only female Tudor I haven't yet played; I need to read up! We've been talking about doing that for about 3 years now and I think it'll be a blast. He's going to send me information so I won't make a fool of my self. *grin* Guess I'm gonna have two new daughters, too! And yes, Lady Suffolk is going to be just as much of a flirt as is her dear husband, so everybody watch out! *grin* Afterall, she is Henry's sister...

Third, Paul took what may be the cutest pic ever of Amber. [livejournal.com profile] mikeoquinn just sent it and I decided to post it here.

Now back to work...

http://www.pbase.com/paul42/image/58839317 <-- you look distracted in this one but I couldn't help think "you know, with some editing that would make a perfect 'I'm up to no good' icon for Bruce" ... just because I was digging around. I miss Scarby. It's strange to be at a faire that isn't your "home" and yet have it feel so much like it should be

*grin* There are loads of 'I'm up to no good' pictures of Bruce...funny, huh? I need to go look when I've a little more time 'cause I looked up several times to see Paul's lens pointed at me/us. He's a simply marvelous photographer and heckuva nice guy.

And yeah, Scarby has that effect on a lot of people. I feel it and hear it time and again, "it just feels like home" and you know...it's the people and the grounds, it really is. But you just can't top the folks there....they are simply amazingly welcoming and friendly.

Oh yes, that picture! Yes, I was distracted...I was walking down wooden stairs towards the hand-fasting and looked up just a second too late for that picture to be as good of me as it is of Bruce.

There are a couple more he took of us walking in the lanes that I hope are better, I think becaues right after he shot that, Bruce said to him, "Oh, I'd happily pay you for that shot!"

Those were three I found in passing when I was shuffling through his pictures.

Ye gods but my face looks fat. I'm so eating a salad for lunch.

Oh pfffff. Honestly I don't think the angles were flattering. You were either looking down..or laughing which causes most people's necks to do the whole turtle thing. I've never understood the reasoning behind it but it's never the best possible shot to get. my tiny cousins develop a new family of chins when they are photographed a certain way...

That said...field greens with a little feta, some dried cranberries and a raspberry balsamic..? good stuff

Yep....indeed. But I know full well that the 'happiness pounds' that I've put in in the last two years are showing from head to toe. Perhaps this is the incentive I need to get serious about losing this 20 pounds again. For me, and not for anybody else.

And yeah, that salad combo sounds good...

Toss a little deli-sliced smoked turkey into that, and it's a feast! :)

I usually toss in some roasted slivered almonds..and I may still do that but now I think I need to add some turkey to the mix. yay!

Oh yeah...gotta have some sort of crunch in there too. Almonds, pecans, walnuts, croutons, sunflower seeds...something!

Actually, if you threw in some toasted walnut pieces and used a WALNUT raspberry vinaigrette...oh..yum...

For some reason the taste of walnuts never did it for me. The almonds sort of mellow out the salt/sweet combo from the cheese and fruit. Sunflower seeds might work as they have that same sort of smooth taste to them.. mmm..crunchy food. I usually make it with Brianna's red wine strawberry vinegarette when I'm not in the mood to make my own dressing and that stuff works great
